West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision occurred on Chevet Lane in Notton, Wakefield. The incident took place at 2.45pm on Monday 11 May 2026 when a Ford Focus crashed into a tree.

The 23-year-old male driver was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to hospital for treatment. The Roads Policing Unit is urging anyone who saw the collision or spotted the vehicle beforehand to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Officers are specifically requesting dash cam or mobile phone footage that captures the moments before or during the collision to help with their enquiries.

The injured driver remains in hospital, and police have not ruled out any further action pending the outcome of their investigation.
