A 28-year-old sex offender, Shaleem Nazish, has been sentenced to two years in prison after repeatedly breaching the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and failing to comply with the Sex Offenders Register requirements.
Nazish, formerly from Wellingborough, was convicted at Northampton Crown Court in May. He admitted to five offences, including three separate breaches of his SHPO and two failures to comply with notification obligations.
Nazish was originally given a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely following his conviction for possessing indecent images. Despite these strict measures, the Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team discovered that Nazish flagrantly ignored all three conditions of his order.
At Northampton Crown Court, Nazish was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge upon release. A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson said, “SHPOs and the Sex Offenders Register exist to protect the public. When those subject to them breach their conditions, we will take swift action. The custodial sentence handed down reflects the seriousness of Mr Nazish’s repeated non-compliance.”
Nazish was remanded in custody immediately after the court hearing, where judges emphasized that breaches of such orders will not be tolerated.
