Police and volunteers are frantically searching for 38-year-old Rebecca “Becky” Holdham, who vanished from her home in Hassocks, West Sussex. She was last seen on the morning of Sunday, 7 September, leaving a property near the Park Estate in Ockley at around 10am. Since then, there has been no sign or word from her, sparking serious concern for her safety.

Friends and neighbours have mobilised, scouring the surrounding countryside and woods near the village over the past two nights. Emotional friends say they are “worried sick” and vow to keep searching until she is found.

The search has intensified with police deploying drones, sniffer dogs, and a helicopter to cover difficult terrain. Detective Inspector Chris May of the West Sussex Missing Persons Team said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Rebecca’s welfare, and are urging anyone who has seen or heard from her since Sunday morning to get in touch.”

He added that officers are conducting house-to-house checks and reviewing local CCTV and doorbell footage. Residents should expect more police activity in the area in the coming days.

Becky is described as being 5ft 4in tall with shoulder-length brown hair. She has a distinctive tattoo on her ankle. The clothing she wore when last seen is unknown.

Becky is believed to have left on foot. She has connections in Burgess Hill, Horsham, Worthing, Devon, and Dorset. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call 999 immediately, quoting reference serial 1359 of 07/09.
