Border Force officers at the Port of Dover made a significant cash seizure when they found over £150,000 hidden in two vehicles attempting to leave the UK on the evening of Saturday 24 October 2020.

At around 6.30pm, officers stopped two vehicles and conducted thorough searches. They discovered £110,000 concealed inside a van and a further £50,000 hidden in a car.

Following the discovery, two men were arrested. Albert Murataj, aged 34, and Elton Allaraj, aged 30, both from Garden Close, Maidstone, were taken into custody on suspicion of concealing criminal property.

The suspects were charged and appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on Monday 26 October 2020. Both men have since been released on bail.

They are scheduled to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 23 November 2020. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to probe the source of the seized cash.
