Police were called at 11.30pm on Sunday, 8 November after a security guard spotted two men slashing the curtain side of a lorry and stealing goods inside at Thurrock Services.
Officers quickly launched a high-speed vehicle pursuit from the service station. A 28-year-old man from Greater London was arrested on suspicion of two counts of vehicle theft, failing to stop, dangerous driving, and driving without a proper licence. A man in his 30s was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of theft from a vehicle and dangerous driving.
Police later tracked down a second vehicle linked to the crime. Four more suspects were arrested for being equipped for theft: a 26-year-old man from Romford, a 24-year-old man from [Location Redacted], a 28-year-old man from London, and a 30-year-old man from Tilbury.
All six men are currently in custody as the investigation continues.
