Police are hunting a masked robber who tried to hold up a takeaway in Kingswood, near Maidstone, on the night of Tuesday, 10 November.
The incident occurred around 9.30pm at a shop on Cayser Drive. The suspect threatened staff with a knife, demanding cash from the till. However, quick-thinking employees refused to open the till, preventing the robbery.
The would-be robber fled the scene empty-handed, running towards Holly Tree Close.
The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 30 years old, with a slim build. Witnesses reported he was wearing a red hoodie with the hood up, matching red trousers, gloves, and a red face mask, apparently to conceal his identity.
Detective Inspector Darren Reynolds said: “We’re combing through CCTV and asking anyone who saw what happened to come forward. If you were driving through the area between 9pm and 10pm or have private CCTV or dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is urged to contact the appeal line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 10-1485.
