The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command has charged 20 more suspects in connection with alleged support for the banned group Palestine Action. These arrests took place across London on August 9 and involve charges under the Terrorism Act.
This latest group increases the total number of suspects charged to 134. The Crown Prosecution Service has approved all charges, and the accused have been notified by post. They are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on November 24.
Commander Dominic Murphy issued a stern warning to supporters of Palestine Action, stating, “If convicted, those charged face serious consequences that could ruin careers and block overseas travel. Anyone thinking of backing Palestine Action should think again. Arrests are happening and prosecutions follow swiftly.”
Offenders charged under the Terrorism Act face serious penalties, including up to six months in jail. Convictions remain on criminal records and are visible in DBS checks conducted by employers. This can put jobs at risk, as employers may refuse to hire or may dismiss staff with such convictions. Universities might deny enrolment to those convicted, and international travel bans apply to countries including the US, Australia, Japan, and soon EU countries under ETIAS. Additionally, professional bodies have the authority to discipline or revoke licences.
The list of those charged who will appear in court on November 24 includes:
