An urgent search is underway for Bethany, a vulnerable 15-year-old girl who disappeared on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after leaving her Eastfield home in Scarborough at around 8pm.
North Yorkshire Police have launched a nationwide appeal as Bethany is believed to have links to Portsmouth and Sheffield, raising concerns for her safety.
A police spokesperson said: “We are urgently searching for missing 15-year-old Bethany, from Eastfield, Scarborough. She was last seen leaving Eastfield at about 8pm on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She has connections to Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and Portsmouth, Hampshire.”
To date, there have been no confirmed sightings, and Bethany’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Residents in Scarborough, Sheffield, Portsmouth, and nearby areas are urged to remain vigilant. Anyone who sees Bethany or has any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police immediately by calling 101. When calling, please quote the date 19 April 2025 and the incident number related to the case. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The appeal has gained significant attention on social media, with communities from Scarborough to Portsmouth coming together to help find Bethany. The busy Easter Bank Holiday weekend has made the search both challenging and urgent, as public spaces are crowded with activity.
