A Kempston man was left devastated when a neighbour’s e-bike spontaneously ignited, sparking a fierce garden fire on 26 April. Levi Lee, 35, a graphic designer, awoke to flames and explosions caused by three camping gas bottles that caught fire during the blaze. Emergency services, including firefighters, police, and paramedics, responded swiftly to contain the incident and assist those affected.

The fire intensified rapidly after the e-bike caught fire, causing three camping gas canisters in Levi’s garden to explode. The blasts were so powerful that they shook the entire property, forcing Levi and his family to evacuate in their sleep clothes.
