A 62-year-old man has been charged with murder following the tragic death of an 84-year-old woman in Plumstead.
Knife Attack Shocks Local Community
Police were called to Red Lion Place at 8:50am on Wednesday, 1 April after reports of a man wielding a knife. Officers arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service to find an elderly woman seriously injured. The victim, later identified as Doris Innes, 84, was rushed to the hospital but sadly died from her injuries. Her family are being supported by specialist officers amid the shocking incident.
Two More Victims Threatened at Knife Point
During the investigation, police identified two other individuals who were threatened with a knife near the scene. Thankfully, neither suffered any injuries.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Shortly after 9:10am, officers arrested Giorgio Pin, 62, of Brookhill Road, Woolwich. He has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder. Pin has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 4 April.
