Hundreds of Cops Launch Blitz on West Midlands Crime Today
Hundreds of officers are swarming the streets right now in a no-nonsense crackdown on serious and organised crime across the West Midlands. The force’s day-long campaign, nicknamed Operation Advance, is zeroing in hard on county lines drug trafficking, knife crime, and sexual offences.
Operation Advance: 24 Hours of Non-Stop Crime Busting
Police squads are fanning out across the region, hunting down suspects linked to drug rings and wanted for sexual crimes. Patrols will also ramp up efforts to tackle knife crime and keep a hawk’s eye on offenders using buses and trains.
“We’re relentless in our fight against serious and organised crime in the West Midlands,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Ed Foster, head of the Major Crime Unit. “Today is about 24 hours of intensive activity to increase the pressure on those involved in that world.”
Monthly Crackdowns to Keep Pressure Up
Operation Advance is a regular gig, hitting different crime hotspots and targeting fresh offenders every month. West Midlands Police pledge to keep the public in the loop with live updates and alerts on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
