Libyan Migrant Jailed for 24 Years After Brutal West London Knife Attack

A violent Libyan migrant has been locked up for 24 years following a savage stabbing spree outside a Shepherd’s Bush café. Abdalla Barka, 45, launched a frenzied knife attack on Hamza Al-Badri, who was accused of theft. The victim suffered serious injuries, leaving him unable to walk properly due to deep wounds on his left leg.

Barka Denies Charges but Jury Convicts

Despite his denials, a Southwark Crown Court jury found Barka guilty of attempted murder and carrying a knife in public. The court heard the attack was “violent and sustained,” forever impacting the victim’s life.

Criminal Past: Threats to Burn Hotel

This is not Barka’s first violent episode. In 2023, he was jailed for 15 months after threatening to set fire to a taxpayer-funded hotel in Swansea. Living at Leonardo’s Guest House, Barka was ordered to leave by staff. Enraged, he threatened to torch the building and himself using petrol and matches.

Possible Deportation Looms After Sentence

Barka arrived in the UK from Sweden eight years ago but originally hails from Libya. The judge warned he could face deportation once he serves two-thirds of his sentence. “The appropriate authorities will decide if you can remain in the UK,” said the judge, “but that’s not for this court to decide.”
