Two drug dealers have been slammed with hefty jail terms after Thames Valley Police cracked down on their Class A supply racket in Reading.
Claire Caesar and Antonio Ferdinand Behind Bars
Claire Caesar, 48, from Basingstoke Road, was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months at Reading Crown Court on 26 February. Antonio Ferdinand, 26, with no fixed address, got 3 years and 7 months.
Despite denying ownership of the drugs and claiming she was heading to a spa, the total value of the drugs seized was around £600.
Second Bust Seals Their Fate
On 5 August 2025, Caesar and Ferdinand were caught again in Reading. Police stopped their vehicle on Bedford Road. Caesar resisted arrest but was nabbed after throwing crack cocaine out the window.
Searches uncovered £219 in cash and around 50 wraps of drugs hidden in the car. Ferdinand had three phones and another stash of roughly 50 wraps beside his seat. The haul was worth around £700.
Both were arrested and charged the following day. Caesar’s multiple offences from February and August were fast-tracked to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Police Blow the Whistle on Drug Supply
“Our team targets dealers like Caesar and Ferdinand with all the force we’ve got,” said PC Ross Hutcheson from the Reading Proactive team. “We use a mix of visible patrols and covert ops to disrupt drug supply. Public tips are vital.”
“If you know anything about drug dealing in Reading, call 101 or report it online.”
