Police are on the hunt for witnesses after a deadly smash on a busy Halifax road that claimed three lives.
Three Dead in Horror Crash on Keighley Road
Emergency crews were called to Keighley Road at 6.50pm on 18 March after a three-vehicle crash near Cobblestones Drive in Illingworth.
Two men, aged 22 and 21, died instantly in a Ford Fiesta. Another 21-year-old passenger was flung from the vehicle with life-threatening injuries and rushed to hospital.
Three Arrested for Dangerous Driving
A BMW carrying three Halifax residents – a 37-year-old man and two women aged 18 and 32 – was also involved. All three were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in custody.
The third vehicle, a stationary Renault Clio, was empty at the time of the crash.
Police Ramp Up Appeal for Witnesses
Keighley Road remains closed this morning as police dig deep into the investigation.
Detective Sergeant Paul Lightowler said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of those who died. Specially trained officers are supporting the families involved.”
“This is a tragic incident, and extensive enquiries are ongoing at the scene. We urge anyone who was in the area yesterday evening and witnessed the collision to come forward.”
“We are also keen to see any dash-cam footage showing the vehicles before the crash.”
