Woman Sent Down for Obsessive Online Stalking Blitz

A 41-year-old woman has been locked up for bombarding a complete stranger with a relentless torrent of abusive and threatening messages. Amy Pickard’s twisted harassment spree targeted a man over weeks—turning his life into a waking nightmare.

Amy Pickard’s Sick Social Media Stalking

Between September and October 2024, Pickard launched a depraved campaign of stalking via Facebook. Using multiple fake accounts, she flooded the victim’s inbox with invasive, sexual, and menacing messages at a terrifying rate—sometimes hundreds every five minutes, round the clock.

Pickard even photoshopped pictures of herself alongside the man, using the doctored images as her Facebook profile photos, creating a fake, sexualised relationship to fuel the torment.

Stalking That Crossed the Line

  • She obsessively monitored the victim’s life, sending messages about his clothes, pets, and even when he switched on his heating—proof she was constantly watching him.
  • In a chilling note, Pickard referenced a newly installed bird box outside his home, revealing close knowledge of his daily habits.
  • The harassment escalated dangerously when she appeared outside the primary school where he dropped off his kids on 15 October 2024.
  • Police arrested her the same day at Giltbrook Shopping Park, dressed in distinctive stripy socks she’d previously flaunted in her taunting messages.

Digital Evidence and Devastating Impact

Authorities found photos on Pickard’s phone linked to the fake Facebook accounts used in the harassment. In his victim impact statement, the man said her relentless stalking had shattered his mental health.

Judge Slams Pickard with Six Years Inside

Pickard, from Woodlands Close, Watnall, pleaded guilty to harassment and causing fear of violence at Nottingham Crown Court on 4 March. She was slammed with an extended six-year prison sentence plus an indefinite restraining order banning any contact with the victim.
