Walsall Dad Found Guilty of Murdering Baby Daughter

A 35-year-old father from Walsall has been convicted of brutally murdering his just five-week-old daughter in a shocking case that stunned the nation.

Sean Jefferson and Amy Clark Held Accountable

Sean Jefferson was found guilty at Stafford Crown Court today (Monday 16 March) after an intense eight-week trial. He was convicted of murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Darcy’s mother, Amy Leigh Clark, 34, from Lichfield, was also found guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child.

Shocking Abuse Left Baby Darcy with 47 Broken Ribs

Emergency services rushed to the Burntwood home on Mother’s Day, Sunday 27 March 2022, after baby Darcy collapsed. Both Jefferson and Clark were arrested the following day.

Tragically, Darcy died in hospital on 29 March.

Police revealed the heartbreaking truth: Darcy died from a catastrophic head injury — but her suffering ran far deeper.

Sentencing Date Still to Come

The Major Investigations Team charged the couple in May 2023 after an extensive probe.

Jefferson and Clark will be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on a date yet to be announced.
