Michael Webb Sentenced for Deadly Cocaine-Related Smash
At Newcastle Crown Court this morning, Webb was sentenced for two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. Evidence revealed he was under the influence of cocaine when his Skoda Octavia careered out of control.
The horrific collision occurred just before 9pm on Saturday, August 30, on John Reid Road in South Shields, South Tyneside. Webb crashed into a lamppost before slamming into a tree, ending the lives of his passengers.
Brother and Nephew Die at Scene of Smash
- Peter Webb, 40, and young Ben Webb, 12, died instantly at the scene.
- Michael Webb, of Park Avenue, South Shields, initially pled guilty to careless driving but later admitted dangerous driving in January.
Family Pays Tearful Tribute to Lost Loved Ones
“Our world has been completely torn apart,” the family said in an emotional tribute. They described Peter as “a kind wonderful human who would do anything for his family” and Ben as “an incredible ray of sunshine with an unbelievable sense of humour.”
