Blaze Tears Through Abandoned Eastbourne Building

Firefighters scrambled to tackle a fierce fire roaring through a derelict building on Ashburnham Road, Eastbourne, Thursday afternoon.

Inferno Engulfs Roof and First Floor

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service got the call at 4:55pm. Four fire engines and an Aerial Ladder Platform were rushed to the scene.

Crews arrived to find flames swallowing the first floor and roof space. Firefighters, suited up with breathing apparatus, battled the blaze using a main jet and foam.

Road Closures and Health Warnings in Effect

The road remains closed as fire crews fight the fire. Sussex Police are controlling traffic and keeping the area secure.

Nearby residents warned to keep windows and doors shut amid heavy smoke drifting through the neighbourhood.

The public is urged to avoid the area until the fire is fully extinguished. Authorities promise updates once the situation is under control.
