The family of Coel Tainton, 24, have paid a heartfelt tribute after he was tragically shot dead in Nottingham. The young man was found dead at a property in Ryeland Gardens, The Meadows, just after 5.30am on Saturday, 28 February.

Family Mourns “Loving, Caring” Coel

Coel’s family described him as their “beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend to so many.” They said:

“Coel was loving, caring, and fiercely protective of those he held close. His heart was big, generous, and full of kindness.

He had a precious soul and a contagious laugh that could light up any room and touch everyone around him.”

Police Appeal for Information

Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 116 of 28 February 2026, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
