Jonas Amogbokpa, 55, snatched and raped a woman walking home in Lewisham last August. Now, the vile predator has vanished, leaving his trial unfinished and justice on hold.
Rapist Jumps Bail After Damning Court Testimony
Amogbokpa took the stand at Woolwich Crown Court on February 11 but skipped the crucial final days of his trial. An insider revealed: “He clearly felt the evidence didn’t go well for him. He didn’t come to court the next day, saying he was ill.”
Police searched his flat to find the door wide open—but no sign of the rapist. Despite his no-show, Amogbokpa was found guilty of rape and kidnapping with intent to commit a sexual offence.
Manhunt Underway as Warrant Issued
A warrant was immediately issued for Amogbokpa’s arrest, but he remains on the run. A source warned, “He wasn’t held on remand, so he slipped through the cracks. The judge called him a danger to the public.”
Police are now scrambling to track down this dangerous fugitive before he strikes again.
