Warning as ‘School Wars’ Brawls Hit Birmingham
A Birmingham secondary school has sounded the alarm over a dangerous new social media craze pushing kids into organised street fights.
Parents Urged to Watch Out for ‘School Wars’ Trend
In a letter dated 2 March, E-Act Shenley Academy revealed pupils from several local schools are arranging clashes right outside school gates. Although Shenley’s own students aren’t involved so far, the school is teaming up with neighbours and the police to tackle the problem before it spirals.
Senior staff say they’re treating the issue “with the utmost seriousness” and have stepped up communication to share intel and prevent violence.
How ‘School Wars’ Fuels Weekend Showdowns
On TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram, kids as young as 11 are being roped into “School Wars” — massive fights between rival schools organised online. Videos show youngsters in red or blue balaclavas representing opposing “teams,” setting up rounds for large-scale brawls.
Parents are urged to report any tips about planned fights to trusted adults at school immediately to help keep children safe.
