Midlands Car Key Burglars Locked Up for Nearly 24 Years
Three members of a ruthless car key burglary gang have been handed hefty jail terms totalling almost 24 years. The trio terrorised the Midlands, breaking into homes and stealing high-value vehicles in a brazen crime spree.
Burglar Trio’s Modus Operandi Uncovered
Kian Davies, 25, Connor O’Keefe-Clancey, 21, and Ethan Beresford, 25, were convicted following a detailed investigation by West Mercia Police. They targeted properties across West Mercia last February and March, relying on lock snapping and blowtorch attacks to gain access.
The gang particularly sought out luxury motors like BMWs, Mercedes, and Audis, making off in stolen cars while driving a VW Golf R fitted with cloned number plates.
Jail Sentences Reflect Serious Threat
- Davies was sentenced to 7 years and 5 months
- O’Keefe-Clancey received 7 years and 7 months
- Beresford got 6 years and 6 months plus an extra 2 years and 4 months for additional burglaries, totalling 8 years and 9 months
Overall, the gang’s combined prison time comes to 23 years and 10 months for their string of ten offences.
Police Crack Case Through Smart Forensics
Detectives DC Jodi Lothian and DC Max Beswick, led by DS Kirsty Hill, cracked the case using mobile phone evidence and phone mast data, which caught the criminals red-handed at the scenes. The evidence revealed their violent threats to occupants and the scale of their conspiracy.
West Mercia Police hailed the convictions as a win for community safety and a clear warning to crooks targeting car owners in the region.
