Two Men Arrested Over Ernest Deputat's Murder in Southampton
Police have nabbed two men in connection with the killing of Ernest Deputat, whose body was found last October on Southampton Common. The suspects, aged 30 and 34, were arrested separately in Bradford and London on Monday, February 16. Both remain in custody in Southampton as the investigation heats up.
Tragic Scene in Southampton Woodland
Ernest Deputat, 45, a well-known figure in Southampton’s homeless community and a Polish national, was discovered dead by a passerby on Wednesday, 8 October 2025. His body lay in dense woodland near the wildlife reserve north of the Ornamental Lake on Southampton Common. Police early on reported signs of a fire at the scene, adding a grim twist to the case.
