A peaceful Axminster Crescent neighbourhood was left horrified after a male cat was found with shocking injuries early on Saturday, February 7. The poor feline was discovered just after 8am outside a home, suffering brutal, gruesome wounds that have stunned locals and animal lovers alike.
Gruesome Injuries Spark Fear of Deliberate Attack
The RSPCA revealed the full extent of the cat’s trauma. His jaw was broken, face mangled, tail completely ripped off, and organs exposed through the wounds. Even more horrifying, his rear claws were damaged, and both eyes were gouged out.
“This was a very upsetting discovery for the residents and extremely distressing for everyone involved – this poor cat was completely mutilated,” said RSPCA inspector Clive Hopwood.
“We’re keeping an open mind about how the cat sustained these injuries. While some could have come from a road traffic collision, the location and nature of the body raise serious concerns.”
Police Launch Crime Probe
Kent Police have stepped in and are treating the incident seriously. They are investigating the case under crime reference number 11-0733, with no suspects publicly named yet.
Animal lovers in the area remain on edge as the brutal scene highlights fears of a deliberate attack on the defenceless cat.
