Teen Stabbed to Death in Smethwick Street Violence
Tragedy hit Smethwick as 18-year-old Zeshan Afzal was stabbed to death during a violent brawl on Oldbury Road last night.
What Went Down?
Just before 9pm on 20 February, emergency crews found Zeshan with serious stab wounds. Despite frantic efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men were also hurt but their injuries are not life-threatening.
Police Launch Urgent Hunt for Answers
West Midlands Police are urgently piecing together what sparked the violence. Detectives are investigating and appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Community Calm Amid Fear
The chaos erupted outside a mosque, but police say there’s no evidence of racial or religious motives at this stage. Officers promise a strong presence to reassure locals and support the grieving family.
