Fatal Crash on B2204 in Catsfield Leaves One Dead, Two Critical
A nightmare smash on the B2204 in Catsfield, East Sussex, has claimed one life and left two fighting for survival.
Deadly Friday Night Crash
Just after 11pm last Friday, a grey Seat Leon veered off the eastbound carriageway. The driver died instantly at the scene. Two passengers inside the car were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Skoda Driver Arrested Over Horror Smash
A Skoda Fabia was also involved in the collision. Its driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They were later re-arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Thankfully, no one in the Skoda was hurt.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Sergeant Suzy Marten said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward. We also want to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles being driven eastbound before the crash.”
The B2204 was closed overnight for forensic investigation but has now reopened. Anyone with information should contact the police, quoting Operation Barbican.
