White Horse Man Jailed for Five Years Over Arsenal of Weapons in Cloned Car
William Lee, 47, from White Horse, Uffington, has been locked up for five years after Thames Valley Police caught him with a deadly stash of weapons in a cloned vehicle in Oxford.
Armed Stop Shakes Oxford Shopping Centre
On 2 June 2025, just after 2pm, cops spotted a suspicious black Nissan Navara Tekna flagged as cloned near Templars Square Shopping Centre in Cowley. Officers quickly pulled over the car and stopped driver Lee for checks.
Deadly Weapons Cache Found in Car Search
The search uncovered a terrifying haul inside the vehicle:
- Military-grade flare gun
- Two machetes hidden in the footwell
- Wooden axe handle in the footwell
- Cocked sawn-off shotgun with two cartridges loaded, found in a bag on rear seats
- 20 shotgun cartridges
- Wooden slingshot
Swift Justice Delivered at Oxford Crown Court
Lee was arrested on the spot and charged within five days. On 11 July 2025, he pleaded guilty to possession of the machetes and the sawn-off shotgun. The judge handed him a hefty five-year sentence on 11 February at Oxford Crown Court.
