Fraud Scandal Rocks 2025 Cannes Film Festival VIP Scene

CANNES, FRANCE – A major fraud investigation has rocked the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Wealthy festival-goers claim they were conned out of thousands of euros after paying big bucks for exclusive VIP access – access they never got.

Meet the Man at the Heart of the Storm

Matthieu Jos, aka Matthieu Louis Arthur, is under scrutiny. The CEO of Opus Management and Agence First, and linked to Eclair Magazine, Jos was also working with Parole Paris during the festival. There, he sold pricey PR access packages through a so-called concierge service.

Clients were lured into shelling out for premium events like the L’Oréal Red Carpet Beauty party. Despite signed contracts and hefty payments, the promised VIP experiences never materialised.

Last-Minute Cancellations and Broken Promises

Victims reveal a familiar pattern: their festival passes were cancelled just 24 hours before events. Jos initially promised full refunds and even updated legal agreements to back these claims – but the cash has yet to show up.

“The experience was entirely unprofessional,” one client fumed. “When the refund was requested, the cycle of empty promises began.”

Fake Bank Docs and Dodgy Debt Deals

Jos claims insolvency, but evidence paints a different picture. Some victims agreed to instalment repayments to recover their money, only to be hit with further deceit.

Investigators uncovered fake payment confirmations sent to stall victims. These supposed “bank transfer” docs were crudely made in Word, missing real digital signatures or transaction IDs – a clear attempt to cover tracks and delay justice.
