Dangerous Fleeing Fugitive Shocks Lewisham Hospital
Daniel Boakye, 21, pulled a daring getaway from police custody at University Hospital Lewisham just after 3pm on Sunday, February 15. Despite officers chasing him, he vanished without a trace, leaving authorities scrambling.
Repeat Offender Pulls Off Second Hospital Breakout
Boakye, no stranger to running, had already been caught after a previous escape but somehow broke free again on Sunday, according to The Sun. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.
Knife-Wielding Robber on the Loose
Boakye’s criminal past is grim. Court documents show he was jailed last July for a string of knife-point robberies across London. Victims were held at knifepoint, forced to hand over phones and bank passcodes, letting Boakye clean out their accounts.
Police Urge Public: Do Not Approach Boakye
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson warned: “We are searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham Hospital around 15:05hrs on Sunday, 15 February. Daniel Boakye was in police custody receiving medical treatment when he fled. Officers gave chase but failed to catch him. We are reviewing the incident to understand what happened. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is involved.”
Described as a slim, medium-height black man, police stress anyone spotting Boakye should not approach him. Instead, call 999 immediately quoting reference CAD4005/15FEB. You can also anonymously tip off via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
