Brazen Shoplifting Gang Nabbed in Swale

Kent Police have smashed a bold shoplifting gang, recovering over £3,000 worth of stolen groceries. Four women from London were arrested after a spree targeting supermarkets in Sittingbourne and Faversham.

The drama unfolded at 2.50pm on Sunday 15 February 2026. CCTV footage showed the gang storming out of a Sittingbourne store on Avenue of Remembrance, pushing trolleys packed with unpaid items. By the time cops arrived, the suspects had fled in two cars. But the Community Safety Unit was on their tail fast.

Shoplifters Caught Red-Handed Trying to Remove Tags

Just 40 minutes later, police caught three women inside a Faversham supermarket on Bysing Wood Road trying to de-tag stolen goods. The fourth suspect was found waiting in a vehicle outside. Kent Police said the swift crackdown sends a clear message: crime won’t pay in Swale.
