Tragic stabbing in Croydon: Young man dies, multiple arrests made
22-year-old Lorik Abazi fatally stabbed in early hours
Detectives have named the man killed in a stabbing in Croydon on Sunday morning. Lorik Abazi, 22, was found injured on Hesterman Way shortly after 1:15am on 15 February. Despite emergency services rushing him to hospital, he tragically died.
Three men were wounded in the incident. Two 21-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of affray. One remains hospitalised with serious injuries, while the other was taken into custody after discharge. Two women, aged 21 and 22, were also arrested; the younger was bailed and the older remains in custody.
The total number of arrests linked to the attack now stands at seven.
Police appeal for witnesses to speak out
Chief Superintendent Nick Blackburn, leading the investigation in Croydon, said:
“My thoughts are with Lorik’s family and loved ones, who have suffered an unimaginable loss.
Detectives are working around the clock to bring those responsible to justice. I urge anyone with information or CCTV footage—be it dash cam or security cameras—to come forward immediately.
We believe this was an isolated incident. With several suspects in custody and increased local patrols, I hope residents feel reassured. Anyone with concerns should contact my officers.”
