Teen Arrested After Shocking Sexual Assault in Romford Park
An 18-year-old man is in custody following a terrifying sexual attack on a teenage girl at Cottons Park, Romford, last Sunday evening. The girl was rushed to hospital after the brutal incident rocked the community.
Emergency Crews Race to Scene
At around 7:30pm on Sunday, February 15, police and paramedics were called to Cottons Park after reports of the assault. The London Ambulance Service treated the victim on-site before rushing her to hospital as a priority.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of the suspect the very next morning. A police cordon remains in place as detectives carry out urgent investigations. Authorities say no other suspects are being hunted.
“We appreciate the concern this will cause, but we want to reassure people that we have a person in custody and have increased patrols in the local area,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
Romford Community Left Reeling
The dreadful attack has sent shockwaves through the local area, leaving residents shaken and demanding answers. The London Ambulance Service detailed their swift response:
“We were called at 7:49pm on Sunday, 15 February to reports of an incident on Recreation Avenue, Romford. We sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene. We treated a woman at the scene and took her to the hospital as a priority.”
