Gun Attack Shocks Busy A41 in Broad Daylight
Drama erupted on 25 July 2024 when a quiet afternoon in Meriden Way park turned violent. At around 3.30pm, tensions flared, but it was what happened just hours later that shocked commuters on the busy A41.
At 5.20pm, a man on an e-bike heading south was confronted by occupants of a black BMW. The standoff quickly escalated, ending with a gunshot fired at the cyclist.
Cyclist Critically Wounded in Shocking Shooting
The bullet struck the cyclist, leaving him with serious injuries. Emergency services rushed him to hospital where he was treated for life-threatening wounds. Miraculously, he has since made a full recovery.
BMW Driver Jailed for Attempted Murder
Justice swiftly followed. The driver of the BMW, 27-year-old Hekmat Galmne from Village Way, Pinner, was found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
“The jury was unanimous in concluding he was the one who pulled the trigger,” said the court.
Galmne has been sentenced to nearly three decades behind bars, sending a strong message about gun crime on UK roads.
