A terrifying stabbing spree tore through Valley Retail Park in Croydon during the early hours of February 15. One man died, and three others were left fighting for their lives. Police have slammed the shocking violence as utterly unacceptable, especially on Valentine’s weekend.
Deadly Violence Rocks Croydon Shopping Hub
The victim, just 22, died from stab wounds despite emergency surgery. Two other men, both aged 21, were rushed to hospital – with one in critical condition. Valley Retail Park, a bustling spot packed with a Vue cinema, bowling alley, shops, and restaurants on Purley Way, was quickly sealed off. It remained a locked-down crime scene all day.
Four people were arrested over the chaos, including a 21-year-old woman who has since been bailed, and a 22-year-old woman still in custody. The suspected charge? Affray.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed: “They have both since been arrested on suspicion of affray. The man with potential life-threatening injuries remains in the hospital while the other has been taken into police custody.”
Detective Urges Public to Come Forward
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this hugely difficult time. We understand this incident will be distressing for the local community. Anyone with information should contact the police without delay.” – Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila
