Engine Blows Mid-Air on Arik Air Flight!

Passengers on an Arik Air Boeing 737 flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt faced sheer terror when the plane’s left engine exploded just after takeoff. With 80 people aboard, the jaws dropped as a deafening bang shook the aircraft, forcing a nerve-wracking emergency landing at Benin Airport.

Miracle Landing Saves All 80 Onboard

Despite losing an engine, the pilot managed to land the plane safely on just one engine. Amazingly, no one was hurt. The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) described the event as an “in-flight engine anomaly” and rushed a team to Benin to get to the bottom of how the engine blew.

“We sincerely apologise to the affected Port Harcourt passengers whose journey has been disrupted. The safety and well-being of passengers is always our priority at Arik Air,” said an airline spokesperson.

Full Probe Launched Into Engine Explosion

The NSIB, working with Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority and Arik Air, has launched a full investigation. Teams will interview crew and passengers, examine evidence, and retrieve the flight data and cockpit voice recorders to figure out what went wrong mid-air.
