Gary Piatek: Missing Man at Centre of Murder Hunt
Leicestershire Police have confirmed that the missing man linked to a major murder investigation is 60-year-old Gary Piatek.
12 Arrested, 9 Still Held in Murder Probe
On Tuesday, 10 February, cops swooped on a dozen suspects connected to Mr Piatek’s suspected murder. Nine remain in custody while two men, aged 25 and 23, were released under investigation. A 23-year-old woman was freed with no further action.
Major Search Operation Ramps Up in Evington
Mr Piatek was last seen in April 2024 and has been missing since. Police launched a detailed search at a Broad Street property in Evington, deploying specialist search teams, heavy machinery, and forensic experts. They are digging around the premises in a painstaking operation set to continue for weeks.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
- Six men aged 21 to 61 and two women aged 29 and 34 arrested on suspicion of murder
- One 50-year-old man held for assisting an offender
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 and quote incident number 221 of 9 February 2026.
