Two Years of Harrowing Abuse
Yanni pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour, plus intentional strangulation, just days before his trial was due to start last November. For more than two years, he subjected his victim – a woman in her forties – to relentless abuse.
Brutal Assault Leaves Victim Scarred
- Yanni repeatedly punched her in the face.
- He snatched her phone to stop her calling the police.
- He strangled her, cutting off her air supply.
The vicious attack in August 2023 at their shared Reading home left the victim with black eyes, severe bruising, scars, and a broken finger.
