Stolen BMW Sparks High-Speed Police Chase Through Chippenham
A stolen BMW roared through Chippenham at breakneck speed on Sunday morning, triggering a thrilling police pursuit. Officers spotted the car racing north along West Cepen Way at around 9:45am. When they tried to pull it over, the driver slammed the accelerator, launching a wild chase.
Chase Ends in Crash on Busy A350
The smash-and-grab ride tore through Bristol Road, Hungerdown Lane, and Bath Road before barreling onto the busy A350 towards Lacock. The stolen BMW collided with a Volkswagen Transporter during the desperate escape.
Teen Girl Seriously Hurt, Driver Held
Tragically, a 14-year-old girl inside the Volkswagen suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Southmead Hospital.
The stolen BMW’s driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested at Gablecross Police Station. He now faces a slew of charges including dangerous driving, failing to stop, drink and drug driving, and escaping lawful custody.
