At least 12 dead and seven hurt after Russian drone slams into Ukrainian bus
Deadly Drone Strike on Civilian Bus Shocks Ukraine
A Russian drone attack ripped through a bus in Ukraine’s Pavlohrad district, killing 12 people and injuring seven, officials confirmed. Oleksandr Hanzha, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, revealed the tragic toll from the ruthless strike on a civilian vehicle in southeastern Ukraine.
Part of Massive Overnight Drone Blitz
The bus was just one target in a brutal night of drone assaults. Ukraine’s air force said Russia unleashed 90 attack drones overnight, with 14 breaking through defences to hit nine separate sites. Mr Hanzha also reported a woman and a man died in separate attacks in the eastern city of Dnipro.
Maternity Hospital Targeted in Zaporizhzhia
The drone offensive didn’t stop there. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration, confirmed six women were injured when a drone struck a maternity hospital, causing a fire at the gynaecology reception. Civilian areas in Kherson also suffered damage.
Emergency Services Rush to Save Survivors
Despite Ukrainian air defences shooting down most drones, those that got through caused widespread chaos across the country. Emergency crews are treating the injured bus survivors while working to identify the victims and notify their families. Officials have not yet disclosed the bus’s exact route or whether the passengers were commuters or long-distance travellers.
The Dnipropetrovsk region remains a hot spot in Russia’s relentless campaign, with civilian casualties mounting as the conflict grinds on.
