Predator Caught on CCTV Hunting Drunk Woman in Aberdeen
Zakaria Abdulla, 23, an asylum seeker from Sudan, has been locked up after sexually assaulting a heavily intoxicated woman in Aberdeen city centre. CCTV footage captured him lurking outside pubs at closing time, on the hunt for a vulnerable victim.
Horrific Attack in Bon Accord Terrace Gardens
Abdulla targeted the struggling woman on 19 September 2022. He grabbed her hand and dragged her into a nearby car park off Justice Mill Lane. He pinned her against a wall before moving her to parkland, where he forcibly kissed and groped her, injuring the victim. She was too drunk to give consent.
Desperate Escape Fails as Predator Chases Victim
The victim tried to run, but Abdulla chased her down and took her to a nearby property. The jury found him guilty of sexual assault, though cleared him of intent to rape. Sheriff Ian Wallace slammed the attack as “serious and planned,” noting Abdulla travelled from Glasgow Home Office accommodation to specifically target a lone, drunk woman in Aberdeen.
18 Months Behind Bars and Decade on Sex Offender Register
Abdulla was sentenced to 18 months in prison and must stay on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years. This tough sentence sends a clear message: predators will be hunted down and punished.
