Ross Davidson, the former frontman of iconic 80s band Spandau Ballet, has been convicted of rape and sexual assault.

West End Star’s Shocking Double Crime

Ross Davidson, 37, aka Ross Wild, famed for starring in the West End hit We Will Rock You and stepping in as Spandau Ballet’s lead singer in 2018, has been exposed as a violent predator. At Wood Green Crown Court, it emerged he believed in “sex on demand,” attacking two women over five years.

Graphic Abuse Revealed in Court

Davidson faced grave charges: raping a woman in London in 2015 and sexually assaulting and attempting to rape another in Thailand in 2019. He denied all claims, insisting the encounters were consensual. After 11 hours of jury deliberation, he was found guilty on every count.

  • One victim described waking up terrified as Davidson assaulted her in bed, forced her into a sex collar and wrist cuffs without consent.
  • Another woman told how she stopped Davidson trying to rape her in a Thailand hotel, despite having consensual sex the night before. Disturbingly, Davidson secretly filmed her sleeping — the video was found on his phone.

Sex Symbol or Ruthless Predator?

Prosecutor Richard Hearnden blasted Davidson as “a bit of a sex symbol” with a “charming exterior” hiding a “dark, predatory nature.” He added, “He expects sex on demand and will use rape and assault when denied.”

Davidson admitted filming victims for voyeuristic pleasure but denied assault. The former Spandau Ballet star, who replaced original frontman Tony Hadley in 2018 before quitting under a year later, is now behind bars and missed court through illness. Sentencing is set for early February.

Police Praise Victims’ Bravery

Detective Constable Kamila Kedadrova praised the courage of the victims and police work. “Davidson is a prolific offender who carried out cowardly, opportunistic assaults,” she said. “We are committed to justice for all victims, no matter when offences took place.”

This disturbing case strips back the glitter of celebrity, proving no star is above the law.
