Ex-Prison Officer Jailed After Scandalous Affair and Spice Smuggling Ring

Isabelle Dale, 23, a former officer at HMP Coldingley, has been sentenced to three and a half years behind bars. The young officer shocked everyone by bedding inmates and running a dangerous drugs ring inside prison walls.

Shameless Romance Behind Bars

Dale quickly crossed the line during her time at Coldingley. Just eight months into the job, she began an illicit relationship with Shahid Sharif, 34, locked up for robbery. The pair even got engaged while he was still behind bars.

Spice Smuggling Ring Uncovered

When Sharif was moved to HMP Swaleside, dale kept their connection alive, visiting regularly and funneling money through the system. From September 2021 to December 2022, Dale teamed with Sharif and another woman, Lilea Sallis, 28, to smuggle the dangerous synthetic drug Spice inside Swaleside’s walls.

The conspiracy didn’t last long before authorities pounced. Sharif was sentenced to 2 years and 3 months, while Sallis got 2 years and 6 months for their roles in the ring.

Authorities Crack Down on Prison Corruption

The South East Regional Organised Crime Unit and HM Prisons and Probation Service’s Counter Corruption Unit led the investigation. Following her arrest last November, Dale quit her job. On 20 February, Southwark Crown Court handed her a stiff sentence of 3 years and 6 months for misconduct in public office and conspiring to smuggle banned substances.
