A man has been slammed with jail time after threatening another with a chainsaw in Olton following a dog attack.

Dog Spat Spirals Into Chainsaw Chaos

It all kicked off on 28 May last year when a dog walker near Gospel Lane and Brookvale Road saw one of his dogs attacked. Tempers flared fast, drawing Lewis Whitsey into the escalating argument.

Whitsey, who was nearby, jumped in and tried to attack the dog owner. He then stormed off — only to return brandishing a chainsaw, ready to carry out the terrifying assault.

Thankfully, the chainsaw cut out just in time, letting the victim flee without a scratch.

Speedy Police Chase Puts Chainsaw Thug Behind Bars

Solihull CID moved swiftly, hunting down Whitsey within days. The 48-year-old from Gospel Lane, Olton, was arrested and charged with wounding.

Whitsey pleaded guilty and was handed a harsh sentence last Tuesday (20 January): two years and two months behind bars.

West Midlands Police hailed the rapid police response that stopped what could have been a deadly attack.
