A man wanted on prison recall is behind bars after allegedly ramming police cars and driving at officers in Southampton. The wild chase happened just after midnight on Paynes Road, Freemantle.
Mad Dash: Driver Crashes Into Police Cars During Escape
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary tried to stop a car driving without lights. Instead, the driver slammed into two police vehicles and even tried to run over officers while fleeing the scene. Miraculously, no officers were hurt in the terrifying drama.

Suspect and Passenger Held as Probe Continues
The 45-year-old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving. He is still in custody as cops dig deeper.
He was found during inquiries into a missing person report. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman from Ashford, Surrey, was also arrested, facing charges of aggravated vehicle taking. She remains in police custody.
