London Tube Terror: Violent Robbery Spree Ends in Jail
A chilling 11-day crime spree on the London Underground has finally come to a close. Adel Kerari, 27, from Hammersmith and Fulham, was jailed for two years and eight months at Inner London Crown Court on 9 January 2026.
Six Savage Robberies in Just Two Weeks
Kerari was found guilty of six counts of robbery and a charge of fraud by false representation. The offences shocked commuters in June 2023 as Kerari and his gang struck across Tube stations including Holborn, Chancery Lane, Leicester Square, Russell Square, Notting Hill, Shepherd’s Bush, Piccadilly Circus, and Leyton.
The gang targeted lone travellers with violence or threats, snatching valuables and leaving passengers traumatised. The criminals prowled station after station, spreading fear on the capital’s busiest routes.
International Manhunt Ends with Dramatic Arrest
British Transport Police (BTP) identified Kerari but he fled the country. After nearly two years on the run, he was finally caught when he returned to West London in September 2025. His gang members were already behind bars, serving over 10 years combined.
“Our officers worked relentlessly to track down all involved and bring them to justice,” said a BTP spokesperson. “Victims can now feel safer knowing these violent offenders are off our streets.”
