Ex-Prison Officer Jailed for Steamy Inmate Affairs and Drug Smuggling Plot
Love and Crime Behind Bars
Isabelle Dale, 23, once a prison officer at HMP Coldingley in Surrey, has been locked up after she embarked on forbidden love affairs with inmates Shahid Sharif and Connor Money. Court heard Dale confessed her love to both prisoners and even had sex with Sharif, a convicted robber, inside the prison chapel.
She later got engaged to Sharif and teamed up with him and accomplice Lilea Sallis to smuggle spice – a synthetic cannabinoid – into HMP Swaleside in Kent.
Jail Time Deals With Crime
On Tuesday, January 20, Southwark Crown Court handed down tough sentences. Dale was jailed for three and a half years for two counts of misconduct in public office and conspiracy to smuggle drugs.
- Sharif, already behind bars, got an extra 27 months added to his sentence.
- Sallis received a two-and-a-half-year sentence.
Judge Slams Dale’s “Devious” Conduct
“A thoroughly devious, untruthful and manipulative young woman,” Judge Christopher Hehir blasted Dale. He slammed her for blaming her “vulnerabilities” but said she likely joined the prison service to engage in crime.
