Drunken Thug Threatens to ‘Shoot Up’ Café and Waves Knife in Furious Rage
Ally Gahindo, 22, flipped after being asked to lower his booming tunes outside Farnworth’s Hideout Café. In a booze-fuelled frenzy, he snarled, “I’m going to shoot the place up.”
He stormed off, only to return brandishing a hefty knife, shouting: “Come outside man, come outside, I’m going to f*cking cut you – I’m going to f*cking stab you.”
The terrifying standoff ended when a woman calmed him down. Gahindo dropped the knife in the gutter and cops swooped. He later claimed blackout drinking left him with no memory of the chaos.
Violence Spree Unveiled at Bolton Crown Court
This was no one-off. While on bail, Gahindo sparked havoc at a local mosque on October 15, 2024.
- He chased someone for cash, threatening: “I’m going to kill you – I have come here to kill you.”
- Locked out, he blocked worshippers and hurled loud blasphemy.
- Police found a 4-inch kitchen knife on him during the incident.
Plus, the court learned the then-19-year-old was involved in a gang robbery of a 14-year-old’s Valentino bag in Bolton town centre.
Gahindo admitted two robberies and other crimes including threatening with a blade and religiously aggravated public order offences.
Lawyer Reveals Lifelong Alcohol Struggle
Defence barrister Hugh McKee opened up about Gahindo’s long-running battle with drink, starting daily from just 17 years old.
“It’s a problem he couldn’t stop,” McKee told the court. He urged for a suspended sentence to give Gahindo a chance, warning without probation support, he would be “back on the street” fast with no help.
Judge Boxes Drunken Menace with 3-Year Jail Term
Judge Jon Close recognised Gahindo’s youth during the offences but flagged his history linked to alcohol-fuelled chaos.
“You accept your alcohol misuse was wholly out of control,” said the judge, pointing to Gahindo’s half-hearted rehab attempts. “Until you maintain sobriety long-term, there remains a high risk of reoffending.”
Gahindo was locked up for 36 months, a stark warning to heavy drinkers running wild on the streets.
