Teen Pleads Guilty After Brutal Bottle Attack Caught on Camera
A 16-year-old boy has admitted manslaughter but denies murder after horrifying footage showed him hurling a glass bottle at Alexander Cashford, 49. The Kent electrician was savagely beaten to death with rocks after being lured into a trap by three London teens posing as a teenage girl.
Victim Tricked by Fake ‘Sienna’ Profile
On August 10, 2025, Mr Cashford met three London youths at Leysdown-on-Sea, Isle of Sheppey. Prosecutors revealed the attack was planned after the teens grew furious over his interest in “Sienna” – a fake profile they created. The saga began two days earlier at an arcade where Mr Cashford gave his number to the 16-year-old girl behind the ruse.
The gang bombarded him with around 75 text messages, pretending to be “Sienna.” Police said Mr Cashford thought he was meeting at an empty parents’ house to bring alcohol. Instead, the meeting turned deadly.
‘Fing Pedo, Get Him!’ – Horrific Attack Filmed
Prosecutor Kate Blumgart KC told Woolwich Crown Court the girl filmed the assault “with unwavering enthusiasm.” As the 16-year-old boy chased Mr Cashford, the girl screamed, “fing paedophile, I’m fing 16, get him!”
Mr Cashford was struck hard with a glass bottle before the teens battered him with rocks. He fell, pursued down the promenade, lying face down in the mud. A witness described the rock throws as “frantic and powerful.” Shockingly, the boy smirked as if “he’d just won the candy out of the candy shop.”
Chilling Aftermath and Fatal Injuries
After his arrest, the boy shared the video online, captioned “f****** pedo up lol,” showing a callous disregard for the victim. A post-mortem found multiple injuries, including fractured ribs that punctured a lung. Mr Cashford died just over an hour after the meeting.
Judge Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb told jurors the prosecution claims all three teens planned serious harm, with the filming meant to “prove their own successful hunt.”
The girl and a 15-year-old boy – who are related – deny all charges. The trial at Woolwich Crown Court continues. The teens’ identities remain protected.
