Tragedy Strikes at Tata Steel’s Corby Plant

A worker has died in a horrific accident at Tata Steel UK’s Corby site in Northamptonshire, sending shockwaves through the local community. The steelworks is now closed as officials launch a full-scale probe.

Company Issues Statement on Fatal Incident

Tata Steel UK confirmed the fatality in a blunt statement: “We can confirm that a worker has been fatally injured in an incident at our Corby site. We are currently investigating and are cooperating fully with the police and the Health and Safety Executive. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to our colleague’s friends and family.”

The factory remained shut on Wednesday while the investigation continues.

Police Launch Investigation Into Sudden Death

Northamptonshire Police were called to Weldon Road at around 1pm on Tuesday after reports of a sudden death at the steel plant. Officers are working closely with the Health and Safety Executive to establish exactly what happened.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time,” a police spokesperson said.
