Explosions Rock Blakenhall as Fire Erupts
A huge fire ripped through a factory unit in Wolverhampton early this morning, shooting thick plumes of smoke miles into the sky. The inferno broke out near Sunbeam Street and Upper Villiers Street around 7.30am, terrifying locals who reported a series of loud explosions.
The West Midlands Fire Service confirmed a fierce blaze and dispatched multiple fire engines to the scene.
Firefighters Race to Battleground
“Shortly after 7.30am on Wednesday we responded to Sunbeam Street, near the junction Upper Villiers Street in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton. We currently have eight fire engines, a 4×4 brigade response vehicle and a hydraulic aerial platform in attendance,” a fire service spokesperson said.
“Firefighters from Bilston, Fallings Park, Tipton, Willenhall, Haden Cross, Wednesbury, Dudley and Walsall are at the scene. The first crew arrived within three minutes of being mobilised. This is a fire in a factory building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are currently tackling the fire.”

Emergency services continue to battle the blaze and closely monitor the situation. Residents near the factory are urged to avoid the area until it is declared safe.
